It's All About ME!

Okay so when I was 16 or 17 my best friend told me I was selfish. It hurt so much to hear that coming from her. I really loved her like a sister and even admired her as a person (she went on to be a Major in the Salvation Army), so when she said I was selfish..I took it to heart.

Since then I tried to watch myself--make sure I wasn't being selfish--and I don't always succeed but I'd like to think Binky is proud of me anyway--yes, her name is Binky.

Anyway, tomorrow is my birthday and I usually don't celebrate it or talk about it, especially since I will be 37 this year.

Yep I'm the oldest North American Arashi Fangirl. That's my title and I'm proud of it! If I'm wrong..then please correct me. If there is someone older than me in N. America who is blogging about them, writing about them, buying their CD's and DVDs (when I can afford them) and downloading anything they are in..then please let me know..I'll happily relinquish my title.

As I was saying, my birthday is April 11. I wanted to give you some insight into the mind of a 37 year old, married, Arashian.This is what I've learned in 37 years. It might not be much to some of you and to other's, maybe it will be an eye opener.

It's scary, confusing and sometimes bizarre..so hold on to your seats folks.

• People are always worried about what others people think. So, stop worrying. No one is really giving you much thought cuz they are worried about what you are thinking about THEM.
• True love isn't true..it's real. If you see a pimple on your significant others back and want to pop it, then that's REAL love.
• You think you'll be friends forever but one day you realize you really aren't as close as you use to be.
• It's ok to wish death on someone you sincerely hate, just as long as you're ready for the hard consequences.
• Dream big--but get a really good education.
• Do everything you want to do NOW. The older you get..the harder it is.
• Dance, Dance, Dance! No matter how bad you are at it.
• Stop judging others. Stop it.
  
• You're never too old..for anything..unless it is made of spandex.
• YOU ARE NOT FAT!
  
• You've made plans to get an apartment with your best friend after high school. DON'T DO IT!
• You love them now but as you grow, and mature--you will stop loving them as much. It's ok.
• Getting to know who you are, is far better than getting to know that person you are so hung up on.

• Ask questions. The only stupid question is the unasked one. (Thank you Nicee)
  
• Find a mentor. If your lucky, she or he, will be a person with a wonderful soul and eye-opening advice; whose not afraid to tell you you suck.
• Listen to your heart..follow your intuition.."To Thine Own Self Be True"
• Make lots and lots of mistakes. Learn from them..and move on.
• Cry, Cry Cry..but only if you know how to Laugh, Laugh, Laugh afterwards.
• Find a favorite curse word and use it..no matter how silly other people might find it.
• Living up to your OWN expectation should be harder than trying to live up to EVERYONE else's.
• Take care of your skin..moisturize like there's no tomorrow and protect against the sun.
  
• Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
• For females: Men are scared shitless of you! No matter how cool, smooth and experienced they appear. They don't understand you, they just want you and they have no idea how to get you! Don't go easy on them. Make them work for it..everyday. If you don't, they will grow complacent and that's not a good thing.
  
• For males: Women are more mature then you! Except it, embrace it and learn to love them for all the odd things they do!
• Sometimes it's okay to let them get away with something you normally scold them for.
• Hugs are GOLD! Hugs are MEDICINE! Hug someone EVERYDAY!
• Smiles are Contagious. (Thank you Vanessa!)
• If it makes you happy then it can't be that bad. (Yes, I know it's a Sheryl Crow lyric)
• Your parents are 99% right about everything, all the time. I'm sorry but it's true. I didn't believe it either until I turned 20.
  
• After 25 your life starts to speed up and before you know it...your 37.
• Always walk with your head up.
• You are smarter than you give yourself credit for.
• WHY BE NORMAL?
• Save your money. You're gonna need it.
• Pay for a good haircut! Never cheap out.
• Love them every day..cuz one day they won't be there. When they're gone remember them with a smile.
• You'll experience really hard times, but it's not the end. It's just the down slope. I'm serious.
• Forgive them. For your sake, not theirs.
  
• It never made me feel any better to know that there were people out there worse off than me.
• Don't wear high heels..it will just ruin your feet in the end and you'll be that little old lady with a walker you see in the street.
• Be comfortable every chance you get.
• Learn how to apply make up properly!
• Have a rich fantasy life. Sometimes it's the only escape you get.

Lastly...Sometimes..it's ok to be a little selfish!

I could go on forever but luckily I won't!
